Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Supervisor to join our Sunwarrior team. This brand-focused role will support our Logistics department by ensuring all inbound and outbound operations are implemented in a safe and efficient manner.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and source shipments for inbound and outbound traffic into La Verkin’s manufacturing facility.
- Set priorities for team members tasks and holding them accountable to the Hoshin Kanri goal system established by the VP of Operations.
- Responsible for analyzing, improving, and optimizing shipping/logistics related expenditures as directed by the VP of Operations.
- Work with Purchasing and Demand Planning to ensure timely arrival of components and raw materials to the La Verkin manufacturing plant, along with on-time arrival of all shipments leaving the La Verkin facility to customers, distribution centers, and any location finished product will be sent.
- Schedule urgent pick-ups and deliveries on an as-needed basis.
- Create, and update new SOP’s. Ensuring that the team is completely trained on the SOP’s relevant to their roles. Holding the team accountable for these SOP’s.
- Order warehouse supplies when needed (Zebra, Pallets, V Boards, consolidating boxes).
- Work with the production team to ensure labels and orders are accurate and will provide feedback to the team on improvements to ensure order accuracy.
- Engage in meetings with carriers and other warehouses as necessary.
- Supervise and oversee concerns and issues from DCs regarding shipments and inventory related orders.
- Update and maintain Masterspec sheet.
- Communicate with daily trucks to ensure inventory is received on-time, and production of products at La Verkin are never delayed when scheduled.
- Physically prepare and fulfill orders for shipments as necessary with team.
- Maintain and keep current all related routing guides and vendor related documents regarding shipping and logistics functions. Communicate these documents to vendors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, production, or related field preferred but not necessary.
- 3 plus years of leading a team is required.
- 5 plus years of previous production scheduling experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, prioritizing, planning, problem solving, and budgeting skills.
- Strong project management skills from conception to completion.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills consistent with the responsibilities included in the position description, along with an understanding of MS Office for daily use.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and peers across the organization.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- This position is in a warehouse/manufacturing plant and will require extensive use of computer/keyboard.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, walking, and standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Some travel may be required.
