Job Details
The Parts Counter Specialist is extremely knowledgeable about automotive parts and accessories and can accurately answer questions and satisfy customer requirements in person or on the phone. He/she locates automotive parts within the current inventory or from other sources (such as the internet, vendors, other dealerships, etc.) and arranges for delivery and installation.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and previous experience with automotive parts and accessories (preferably Acura or Honda). Candidates must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong customer service and organizational skills, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Discusses the use and features of various parts.
- Fills customer orders from stock.
- Prepares sales slips or sales contracts.
- Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
- Examines returned part to determine if defective, and exchanges part or refunds money.
- Marks and stores parts in the stockroom according to the prearranged system.
- Receives and fills internet orders for parts.
- Takes inventory of stock.
- Completes any reports or logs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience preferred
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to
