What is the job about?

The Field Sales Manager's primary role is to manage the relationships with the Key Decision Makers for the Groundwater and Irrigation Sales team. Their primary responsibility is to grow Grundfos business by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling the activities within their area with our partners. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and will be operate remotely out of a home office with a preference for a candidate that lives within the sales territory within a Northeast State.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain a sales plan aimed at the Key Decision Marker in the Groundwater business.
  • Develop and maintain a dealer sales plan targeting high potential sales prospects.
  • Evaluate training needs for dealers in a defined market and set up customized training programs based on the needs.
  • Prioritize sales activities based on data analytics to optimize T&E spend while traveling in the market.
  • Assess inventory levels at dealer locations, both Grundfos and competitive, and develop a plan to convert more products to Grundfos.
  • Ensure Grundfos dealers have the proper tools to promote, sell, and service Grundfos products.
  • Capture competitive data, such as pricing information from targeted markers to ensure Grundfos is properly positioned to the market.
  • The FSM will work with Key Account Managers to ensure buying habits of Grundfos dealers are communicated into the SIOP process to improve inventory planning.
  • Maintain data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Utilizes sales activity reporting tools and ensure their sales plans are planned out and track competitive sales data while developing a territory sales plan.

Your background

We imagine that you have :

  • A bachelor's degree in business or an engineering discipline is preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of field experience either in the Water, Irrigation, or Groundwater industry is required.
  • Previous field experience selling, servicing, or installing submersible pumps is highly preferred.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In depth knowledge of Groundwater products and general knowledge of target markets.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% within the sales territory (within the Northeast States) is required for this position.
