Job Title: Animal Control Warden

Rate of Pay: $17.00 per hour
SUMMARY Under general supervision of Animal Control Director, the Warden is responsible to explain and enforce State laws and County ordinances pertaining to the treatment and control of animals. Duties include feeding and caring for injured and impounded animals, licensing, rabies quarantine, impounding, disposing of animals, and street patrol.
HOURS will vary and subject to change based on department needs
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three months experience working with animals is desired. Qualified candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities. This position is on-call every fourth week to respond to emergency call outs by the Sheriff’s Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds.
