- Ensures server and storage equipment is updated and hardened to maximize data confidentiality, integrity and availability.
- Installs and manages virtualization systems, phone systems and backup systems.
- Implements and manages cloud-based infrastructure.
- Installs, configures and supports all server and storage hardware.
- Works with vendors to address needed systems and storage architectures are sound and maintained.
- Participates in identifying and managing equipment and software acquisitions and vendor management.
- Participates in configuring and managing firewalls and top of rack switching.
- Collaborates and assists the tech leadership team.
- Cross trains with the Network Manager.
- Manages application licensing and distribution, maintains service subscriptions working with the tech department administration assistant.
- Creates and maintains images and packaged applications for end user devices using remote management and deployment solutions.
- Develops positive relations with students, parents, school staff, and the public.
- Implement, administer and support resilient systems monitoring and alerting systems used to optimize and troubleshoot systems performance. Implements off-site monitoring and alerting.
- Creates, documents, and maintains efficient systems and strategies to maximize the use of district technological resources.
- Third level escalation point for tickets and Department of Technology Staff, and 2nd level operational support of the district systems and storage infrastructure.
- Assists the Help Desk manager in designing and implementing a mentoring program for level 1 technicians.
- Provides support for special projects and systems maintenance during and after regular business hours.
- Develops and regularly updates reports concerning Key Performance Indicators related to systems network performance and availability.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology and the Superintendent's District Leadership Team.
