Responsible For
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Back up for weekly and Bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Participates and provides Annual Open Enrollment information and process to ensure a smooth rollout and accurate implementation
Ensures HR compliance with state and federal laws; including labor posters and other required legal postings
Provides an atmosphere that is approachable to all employees and promotes positive employee relations
Assist in transitioning temporary production and production support employees (MOI & MOD) to direct hire:
Maintains employee personnel files, I-9’s, medical, training files and follows Company retention policies
Completes HR reports, including EEO timely and efficiently
Administers and ensures company policies and procedures are followed
Maintains and ensures confidentiality
Oversees and ensures employee activities are conducted and supports engagement
Walks Plant floor
Arranges with other team members Employee Monthly Events, meetings, quotes and delivering of that event
Responsible for Recording training hours and keeping all Training documentation updated
Master knowledge of union contract
Train and ensure union contract is adhered to by all function leaders and appropriate team members
Work collaboratively with union team members
Listen, participate and resolve union grievances
Provide suggestions for contract renewals
Participate in union negotiations as directed
Perform other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
PHR or SPHR Certification desired, but not required
Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
At least 5 years of Human Resource Generalist experience in manufacturing, distribution/warehouse facility required
Prior experience assisting HR Team members required
Prior experience with safety requirements, reporting, programs required
Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency required
Automotive plant experience desired, but not required
ADP experience desired
SAP experience desired
Physical demands require computer work, standing, sitting in office and manufacturing plant environment, walking manufacturing plant floor.
Travel – less than 5%
