We are seeking an efficient and highly motivated Pharmacist to join our team.
Job Summary
In this role, you will provide a full range of patient services including filling prescriptions, counseling patients, supervising Pharmacy Technicians, and providing professional services under indirect supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret written prescriptions, check for drug interactions and allergies, enter prescription and patient data into computer system, and provide prescription information to Pharmacy Technician for filling.
- Supervise Technicians, check all work for accuracy.
- Serve patients by counseling over the phone and in person, conveying pertinent information regarding medication use and answering questions.
- Consult with other health care professionals and conduct research as necessary to ensure patient services conform to established professional standards and applicable state laws.
- Review inventory daily, place orders for medications as necessary, and maintain adequate supplies without overstocking.
- Ensure proper billing occurs when pharmacist on duty in compliance with insurance plan, CMS, and/or board of pharmacy.
- Counsel patients to ensure they understand their treatment program and that treatment goals are being met.
- Maintain current state pharmacy license, working knowledge of computer and cash register systems, and store competitiveness and profitability.
- Develop courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.
- Comply with all security/loss prevention procedures, maintain a perpetual schedule II inventory, and complete third-party rejections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's level degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from accredited Pharmacy College.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy license in the state.
- One to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
