Job Summary
Gryphon Environmental, Inc is an established leader in advanced thermal drying technology and we are looking to expand our team. Gryphon Environmental’s equipment has been installed throughout the United States and serves a variety of industries including municipalities, waste water treatment, and agriculture. Our flagship location in Owensboro, Kentucky is seeking to add a talented Purchasing and Inventory Specialist to our team. The purpose of this role is to assist in the production of dryer systems by purchasing and tracking materials needed for the manufacturing and servicing of Gryphon Dryer Systems.
Responsibilities
- Source new and replacement components, create and distribute requests for quotation (RFQ), Issue Purchase Orders, and enter information into accounting software for tracking.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) from the Engineering department, compare for deviation from previous builds, work with Engineering to revise BOMs as needed.
- Create and manage purchasing schedules that conform to production needs. Monitor market trends, availability, and lead times to mitigate risk to production deadlines and pricing.
- Manage vendor relationships, purchasing agreements, pricing, quality, delivery, and resolve related issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting routine physical counts and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Track part, steel, hardware, and shop consumable inventories and allocations, and update accounting system for accuracy.
- Provide feedback to engineering, fabrication, and management teams on ways to increase efficiency and manufacturing costs
- Receiving deliveries and input them into the accounting system for tracking
- Compile components for manufacturing
- Assist in scheduling shipments of equipment and components to job sites and customers
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management and purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast and plan effectively
- Excellent negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure across several projects simultaneously
- Experience with Computer Ease accounting software or equivalent
- Ability to work locally in Owensboro, Kentucky
