SUMMARY: Manages and oversees all operational activities for a custom apparel design and manufacturing company; ensures that all operational functions are performed in a timely, cost-effective manner consistent with established operational procedures; develop and refine procedural systems to optimize efficiency and quality control.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, organizes, and directs production, administrative, and warehouse activities to meet or exceed established production goals with optimized efficacy.
- Designs, develops, and implements processes that increase yield and/or improve quality for all phases of manufacturing and delivery, with a focus on safety.
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders to establish production and quality control standards, resolve customer issues, and manage equipment & inventory control.
- Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
- Prepares all required reports and correspondence and identifies KPIs.
- Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivates an environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, and self-confidence.
- Performs other appropriate, related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises 5-9 employees and seasonal temps.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include managing, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field or equivalent preferred.
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating team members
- Commitment to excellence and high standards; exemplary attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities in an agile working environment
- Ability to work as a player-coach, both leading and doing to support the effort
- Proficient on Microsoft (Excel, Word), Google Suite, and CRM/ERP solutions
- Proven ability to handle multiple, simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Ability to understand, implement, and enforce all safety requirements
- Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
