Experienced Welder & Fabricator
GS Steel, based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, is seeking an experienced metal welder & fabricator to join our team. This is a full-time position with exceptional benefits. Essential Duties:
· Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to layout.
· Follows all company safety guidelines
· Operate grinders, torches, plasma cutters and other welding related tools as well as cranes, forklifts and various other shop tools and equipment.
· Fabricate, weld, grind and burn a variety of types of metals.
· Maintain shop floor organization and cleanliness daily
· Set up components to be welded based on the requirements needed.
Skills & Requirements:
· 5 years of experience or better.
· Strong fabrication background.
· Strong welding skills.
· Very proficient with MIG welding and some TIG experience.
· Willingness and ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week on average. Overtime available.
· Ability to accurately read a tape measure, knowledge of how to pull and calculate angles
· Heavy Plate Fabrication Experience.
· Proficient in Carbon Arc/Air Arc gouging
· Strong initiative required & the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Positive communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
· Awareness when working around moving machinery.
· Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, fumes and gases
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Valid Driver’s License.
