CLIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR NEEDED FOR LARGE OAKLAND DRAYAGE COMPANY

We are a major transportation company in Oakland. We are seeking an experienced Client Services Coordinator to assist us in arranging pickups and deliveries, interacting with our dispatchers, creating reports, and interacting daily with our customers. We need someone with strong transportation/logistics analyst experience. We strongly prefer a candidate specifically with drayage industry (transportation) experience.

The Position:

The Client Services Coordinator will report to our Logistics Analyst Manager. You will be working directly with one or more of our top-rated customers in making all the complex arrangements necessary for drayage trucking operations in the busy Port of Oakland.

About You:

  • You have extreme attention to detail.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills. You will be the face of the Company to our Clients.
  • You learn new software systems quickly.
  • You are flexible because priorities will constantly be changing. At the same time, you continue to balance your other daily tasks!
  • You are a self-starter and assertive in bringing issues to management. We will be counting on you to identify trouble situations before they become real problems.
  • You are familiar with Excel and possess good computer skills
  • Ideally you have two years’ experience in the import/export/transportation industry.
  • Ideally you are proficient in at least one TMS (Transportation Management System) (“Trinium” preferred).

  • You will be receiving various types of source data and documents from our clients and from our internal processes.
  • You will be interacting not only with everyone on your team, but also with other managers and even ownership when issues escalate.
  • There is a strong data-entry component to this work.
  • You will be responding to various customer inquiries and requests.
  • You will be preparing daily and weekly reports for our customers and internal use.
  • You will not only know your own assigned customer very well but will be asked to pitch in for other customers when things get busy, or others are out of the office.
