Job Summary
The HR Business Partner will support two / three plants under the direction of the Plant Manager and Manager of HR. The HR Business Partner will provide professional support to Leaders, Managers, and individual plant contributors. This position is 60% strategic / forward-thinking, 35% administrative and 5% misc.; requires skills beyond administration / managing existing programs.
The position will support 2 different plants and will include travel once / twice a month.
Responsibilities
- Understand core business objectives and how HR goals link to business priorities.
- Daily point of contact for employees and people managers related to HR policies, procedures and programs.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues, conducts investigations and handles employee relations counseling with related employee population.
- Coordinates the recruiting and staffing initiatives required for the facility, including background checks and pre-employment drug testing in conjunction with the Manager, Talent Acquisition and corporate processes.
- Coordinates new employee orientation / onboarding activities, employee development and training, and associated recordkeeping.
- Coordinates documentation and communication of Workers Compensation-related issues with the Director, EHS as well as with state agencies and / or insurance representatives as required or requested.
- Participate in Safety initiatives throughout the plant with leadership.
- Flexible for 24 / 7 shift meetings for employee engagement and communication meetings.
- Prepare presentations for internal communications. (ie, monthly birthdays and work anniversary for bulletin boards)
