What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead/Office Manager (Payee Org.- Non-Profit) position at GSES?
Our private, client centered non-profit is seeking candidates with managerial / lead experience and a passion for social work and client advocacy. Experience working with individual's with mental illness, including advocating for benefits and housing, is preferred.
Administrative/computer work is a main requirement of the position as well. Primarily, we are seeking individuals with patience and resourcefulness in assisting our clients with mental illness.
Very little driving required, as clients visit our office in person (or contact via phone).
The Lead/Office Manager is responsible for overseeing our staff, producing accurate reports, acting as a Social Security liaison and working directly with clients. Our ideal candidate is energetic, possesses strong people skills and has an ability to work with a wide variety of people including clients suffering from a variety of physical and/or mental illnesses.
Desired skills:
- Commitment to providing services within an atmosphere of dignity and respect
- Above average computer skills, including the capacity to use a database and Microsoft applications
- Proven ability to successfully process high volumes of detailed information
- The ability to work independently and solve problems creatively
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills are a must; this position involves juggling several responsibilities and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong listening skills; Patience, perseverance, and flexibility
- Sense of humor and ability to be calm in the midst of occasional chaos would be very helpful.
- VMRC/VA Expert - a plus!
- Creating collaboration among team members is essential, and creative problem solving is strongly encouraged.
This is an hourly position with benefits (after eligibility) including health, dental and vision insurance, vacation, holiday and sick leave pay and a 401(k) plan.
Full-time/Non-Exempt/ Monday -Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Must have reliable transportation and willing to consent to a background investigation and drug screen.
