CDL B Driver & Forklift Operator (Part-Time)

TITLE: CDL Driver/Warehouse Forklift Operator (Part-Time)                   DIVISION: Transportation 

REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager                                                  FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Hourly

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

This position plays a vital role in supporting the Transportation Team. As a Driver & Forklift Operator, your responsibilities include transporting goods along designated routes using a commercial vehicle, making deliveries and pickups at school sites and warehouses, and maintaining clear communication with the management team and dispatchers. You will also operate reach trucks to load, unload, and move products efficiently. 
 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Safely operate a Commercial vehicle.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Read locations and road maps.
• Basic truck maintenance.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after each trip.
• Meet delivery schedules while maintaining safe work practices.
• Properly track and document driving logs on an ELD.
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Other duties as requested.
• Operate reach truck as needed to assist receiving and shipping departments

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields
• Valid Commercial Driver's License.
• Ability to handle physical workload, physically qualified to perform all duties of a driver.
• Ability to work in all types of weather and environments.
• Strong work ethic.
• Commercial Driver’s License, DOT Medical Certificate and Motor Vehicle Record 
• Touch freight experience preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a DOJ and criminal background check.
• Speak and Read English satisfactorily to:
• Converse with the public.
• Understand traffic signs and signals.

 Respond to official questions. 

• Make legible entries on reports and records.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

• CDL A/B (Required)
• Pass a driver’s road test or equivalent.
•  Reach truck experience
