At AGCO, you will gain valuable practical experience that will really help you get ahead. AGCO is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern to join our team based in Fargo, North Dakota . This is a full-time internship during the summer of 2025.
A Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining mechanical hardware for complex systems in the product domains of Agriculture and Aviation. A Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in applying their skill set in a broad spectrum of technologies such as consumer electronics, rugged electronics, optical systems, and acoustic designs. Designs utilize many different manufacturing techniques including injection molding, casting, machining, and 3D printing. Mechanical Design Engineers take part in the entire product lifecycle, from initial design to obsolescence. The engineer can problem solve and communicate collaboratively with other members of the engineering team, management, and customers to translate and execute cost reduction, product improvement, and root cause analysis.
Your Impact
- Prepare and interpret drawings and other visual aids
- Aid in the modification of existing products
- Aid in cost reduction activities
- Aid in root cause analysis on mechanical systems
- Conduct research activities including exploration and selection of new components
- Design, coordinate, and conduct testing of mechanical systems, parts, and equipment
- Participate in sprint plans and retrospectives
- Participate in technical design reviews
- Prepare technical design specifications
