Responsibilities
UES is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Huntsville team as part of the UES Southeast Region. This position entails the delivery of comprehensive geotechnical services through the coordination and execution of field explorations and laboratory testing, the analysis/evaluation of those findings, the preparation of geotechnical reports, and communication with Alpha clients.

Responsibilities
UES is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Huntsville team as part of the UES Southeast Region. This position entails the delivery of comprehensive geotechnical services through the coordination and execution of field explorations and laboratory testing, the analysis/evaluation of those findings, the preparation of geotechnical reports, and communication with Alpha clients.
- Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions
- Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations effectively
- Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects
- Assist project professionals with project execution, proposal, and report preparation.
- Execute smaller projects to gain experience in project management
- Coordinate required testing/sampling with drill crews and assist with field activities
- Interpret field data and assign laboratory testing
- Communicate results of field and laboratory testing, and geotechnical recommendations, to clients
- Prepare geotechnical reports
- Perform field inspections during construction
- Cross train with the Construction Materials Testing and Environmental divisions as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) ABET or an accredited four-year college or university in civil engineering.
- 3 – 5 years experience in a like or similar field, preferred
- Familiarity with modern office tools including the use of computer-based programs such as gINT, DARWin, SLOPE/W, VOLFLO, gSTABL, SLIDE, Microsoft Excel, Autocad, etc
- Possession of a valid Alabama driver license and acceptable driving record
- Engineering in Training; P.E registration preferred
