We are seeking a Senior-level Climate Risk Analyst. GSI is seeking experienced consultants to support our clients in shaping and advancing their climate strategies and disclosures. This role will primarily focus on helping clients assess, understand, and quantify the impacts of climate risk. Additionally, there are opportunities to work across various areas within climate strategy, including, but not limited to, climate transition and decarbonization planning, GHG accounting, and overall sustainability compliance and reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage client’s climate-related financial risk reporting.
- Engage directly with clients, including senior leadership, to provide education on climate-related topics, present and discuss your own analytical work, discuss risk management and business strategy.
- Apply quantitative methodologies to climate risk assessments, including financial statement analysis, discounted cash flow modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and uncertainty/risk analysis.
- Complete climate risk estimations that incorporate a range of data sources, including corporate financial data, geospatial climate data, academic research, industry specific research and reports.
- Engage with clients to understand how they integrate climate into their risk management processes, and work with clients to integrate climate risks where appropriate.
- Draft client deliverables in collaboration with other team members.
- Contribute to GSI’s thought leadership through promotion with webinars, blogs, and other initiatives.

Teamwork and Organization:

- Mentors junior staff in the proper planning and execution of projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products.
- Manages a team of two to five junior consultants.
- Identifies, evaluates, cultivates and manages partnerships and relationships with senior clients, external stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
- Effectively collaborates internally to bring our services to existing clients.
- Enhance GSI’s capability to support sales and delivery of Climate and Sustainability services.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 3-6 years of professional sustainability strategy experience either in consulting or working in-house.
- Experience with TCFD and IFRS S2.
- Academic or professional experience in climate and sustainability, finance and economics, and risk management as to have a solid understanding of climate change, business models, strategy, company revenue, Capex, Opex.
- Experience with financial modeling and integrating climate into quantitative analysis and data manipulation.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in translating highly technical information for a non-technical audience through workshops and presentations.
