Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide support for mobility needs, helping patients move safely within their environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (e.g., Epic or Cerner).
- Assist with specialized care for patients with conditions such as dementia or disabilities.
- Support nursing staff in various tasks within the ICU or OR settings as needed.
Skills
The successful Nursing Assistant candidate should possess the following skills:
- Experience in long-term care settings or hospital medicine is preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Knowledge of ICU protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with operating room environments is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience providing dementia care is highly valued.
- Skills in home community care practices are beneficial.
- Background in medical office operations can enhance patient interaction capabilities.
