Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Hybrid, NJ
Contract W2 only
Responsibilities:
10 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks for a growing BioPharma company
Ensure 99.9% uptime for critical network systems and minimize downtime during planned maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues efficiently, adhering to strict SLAs
Enforce and uphold network security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and comply with HIPAA and other industry regulations.
Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests.
Monitor network activity for potential breaches and implement preventative measures against unauthorized access.
Evaluate and optimize network performance and scalability to meet evolving business needs.
Spearhead network upgrade and expansion projects, including migration from legacy systems.
Fine-tune network configurations for superior efficiency and reduced latency.
Collaborate with various teams to understand their networking needs and provide technical guidance.
Mentor and coach junior network engineers, fostering their growth and expertise.
Stay informed on emerging network technologies and industry-leading practices.
Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configuration specifics, and policies.

Skills Required
Demonstrable experience in network administration, engineering, troubleshooting, security, and design.
Extensive experience with Cisco Route Switches, Cisco Wireless, Fortinet firewalls, and other relevant network technologies and tools.
Profound understanding of networking protocols such as:
Routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP, MPLS
Switching protocols: STP
Management protocols: SNMP, CLI
Security protocols: IPSec, SSH, RADIUS, SSL VPN, OpenVPN, SSL/TLS, IDS/IPS
Basic protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, IP
Proficiency with network monitoring solutions like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios.
Strong experience with Fortinet firewall technologies and security best practices.
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and a strong analytical mind.
Ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education & Work Experience :
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Valued certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, CISSP, etc.
