Reporting to the Vice President, Precision Medicine (PMed) Portfolio Planning - Development, the Executive Director, PMed Portfolio Planning will sit at the heart of the organization bringing extensive biomarker testing knowledge expertise to inform disease area diagnostic testing strategy to maximize GSK portfolio commercial value.
This individual will embed deep understanding of the rapid evolving global biomarker diagnostic testing ecosystem and partner with asset leads to guide the execution of the precision medicine strategy in priority markets. In addition, you will develop precision medicine knowledge tools to build infrastructure for access to quality testing for patient diagnosis, to inform treatment selection and response monitoring.
Together with the VP PMed Portfolio Planning you will serve as a resource to Business Development, Medical and Commercial Biomarker Teams to help inform key partnerships and post launch biomarker strategies. You will also stay current in technical and scientific advances related to precision medicine and serve as industry thought leader within TA related to biomarkers through publications and advocacy organization.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
Early identification and communication of business risks, support the development mitigation plans and scenario planning.
Responsible for the implementation of Target Test Profiles across the portfolio for those assets that require precision medicine solutions to inform and guide precision medicine decisions within R&D
Responsible for integrating target test profiles within regions
Execute landscape assessment to deliver Asset Diagnostic (Dx) Strategy & Diagnostics Playbook Diagnostic
Deliver current ideal testing journey/pathway - identify gaps and leverage points that needs to be addressed by early market shaping activities & develop mitigation plans across care path. Identify root causes for gaps / barriers in testing infrastructure, single or multi technology approach; laboratory developed test (LDT) vs in vitro diagnostic medical device (IVD) vs companion diagnostics (CDx)
Drive early HCS Dx shaping activities and partnerships across regions (e.g. ring study, concordance study, educational activities, etc).
Together with Medical Affairs, deliver Scientific Testing Narrative with why, who, how & when to test
Inform Dx needs to evidence generation studies, including data on testing modalities and technical considerations, diagnostic clinical utility, use and treatment outcomes.
Drive diagnostic consensus, position paper and/or guidelines by leveraging key medical experts to propose "optimal" testing pathway
Implement clinical laboratory External Quality Assurance (EQA) initiatives
Responsible for the creation and implementation of the PMed Diagnostic Fact Book for timely biomarker testing knowledge transfer from development to medical affairs and commercial.
Create, expand and foster a network of precision medicine subject matter experts including external expert advisors that inform strategic and tactical business decisions.
Enable effective partnership between GSK Global, Regional and LOC commercial and Medical Affairs to Diagnostic partners.
Responsible for identifying appropriate data sources and partnerships to advance precision medicine strategies for the disease area and/or priority assets.
Stay current in technical and scientific advances related to precision medicine and serve as industry thought leader within TA related to biomarkers through publications and advocacy organization.
In partnership across PMed groups build deep understanding of the global diagnostic ecosystem. The scope will include new technologies, regulatory, reimbursement, policy dynamics, patient & testing journeys, competitor positioning across different market archetypes.
Foster a culture of collaboration and delivery with clear accountability.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences required
15 years industry experience in precision medicine across therapeutic areas
10 years prior precision medicine tools/diagnostics development and commercialization experience with understanding of diagnostics business models
Prior experience in global, region and country launch of Drug/Dx products and companion diagnostics
Commercial leadership experience in development of diagnostics strategies and business planning
Experience with business development and alliance management
Leadership and management experience, including budgetary responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in life sciences/medicine (MSc, PhD, PharmD and/or MBA)
Managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams
Strong network within the precision medicine space.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Engages confidently, impactfully, and professionally within broad organizational environments.
