Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

This role is to provide essential assistance to students with additional needs, helping them thrive in a structured and inclusive school environment.

About The Role

As a School Care Worker, you will support students with special educational needs (SEN), disabilities, or emotional and behavioural challenges, ensuring they receive the care and attention required to flourish. Your role will involve both academic and personal care assistance, helping to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students with personal care, mobility, and daily routines as needed.
• Providing one-on-one and group support to enhance learning and engagement.
• Supporting students with SEN, autism, physical disabilities, or communication difficulties.
• Encouraging positive social interactions and emotional well-being.
• Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
• Helping manage challenging behaviours in a patient and supportive manner.
• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement personalised support plans.
• Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment for all students.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in education, SEN support, or care work (desirable but not essential).
• A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to liaise with staff and parents.
• The ability to provide both academic and personal care support.
• Basic knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety (training can be provided).
• Relevant qualifications in care, SEN support, or education (desirable but not mandatory).
  
  

To Work with GSL Education as a School Care Worker, You Must:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
