What You'll Be Doing
- Provide 1:1 support for students with learning needs.
- Implement support strategies in line with the school’s policies.
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to ensure progress.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised support plans for students, tailoring strategies and resources to meet their specific needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
- Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting students’ learning and well-being.
- Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and included.
- Employ different instructional techniques and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
- Keep detailed notes on students’ development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
- Experience working with students in a secondary mainstream setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
- Show a deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
- SEN experience is an added bonus, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students effectively.
