What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hands-on Working, Industrial Maintenance Technician/Manager position at GSM METALS?
We seek a hands-on, working Industrial Maintenance Technician/Manager to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on facility and production equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities include building maintenance (structural repairs, painting, plumbing, and groundskeeping), production equipment maintenance (troubleshooting, part replacements, lubrication, and calibration), and ensuring safety compliance by identifying and addressing potential hazards. You will also collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment efficiency and train employees on maintenance best practices.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and the ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. You should be proficient with hand and power tools, capable of lifting and working in confined spaces, and comfortable troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently. A technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance is preferred, along with prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metals industry. This position requires Monday–Friday availability from 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, with flexibility for overtime and weekends as needed.
