Fire and Life Safety Director (F89)

A successful company in the security industry is looking for experienced, outgoing, pleasant, and licensed FLSD's to join their team.

All candidates MUST have all Valid NYS Security Guard Licenses, and their FLSD License (F89).

Setting: Family Shelter

Location: 90-10 Ditmars Blvd. Queens, NY 11369

Job Type: Full time and Part time

Availability:

• 7-3pm (morning)
• 3-11pm (evening)
• 11-7am (overnight)

Pay Rate: $25-$27hr.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage fire control panels.
• Maintaining accurate fire and life safety logbooks in accordance with NYC Fire Code.
• Be a liaison between Property Management, building staff and first responders in the event of an emergency.
• Communicate with all managers, shift leaders and building management.
• Conduct drills, training and other day to day oversight of fire and life safety plan in accordance with NYC Fire Code.
• Ensure that all FDNY Inspections, Testing & Maintenance is scheduled, completed and documented.
• Assist in securing the facility as required by the site which may include access control, patrols and other assigned duties.

Physical and Mental Functions:

• Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)
• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
• Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
• Run as needed
• Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
• Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination
• Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat;
• Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments

Qualifications:

• Must be a NYS Licensed Security Officer
• Must have your F89 certification
• Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• On call
• Overnight shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
• FLSD: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• NYS Security Guard License (Required)
• F89 License (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Queens, NY: Relocate before starting work (Required)
