Inventory Specialist
Hourly Rate: $19-$22/hour (Based on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Inventory Specialist to provide exceptional customer service and operational support at our campus bookstore and apparel shop. This role ensures a seamless shopping experience for students, faculty, and staff by managing inventory, supporting merchandising strategies, and assisting with daily store operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrives in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales:
- Deliver a welcoming and professional shopping experience, assisting customers in-store and online.
- Handle product inquiries, order fulfillment, and purchases while addressing concerns with a solution-focused approach.
- Support register transactions and stay informed about store promotions, policies, and product offerings.
Inventory & Merchandising:
- Receive, process, and organize incoming inventory, ensuring accuracy within the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain proper stock levels, conduct inventory audits, and communicate potential shortages to management.
- Implement merchandising guidelines, refresh displays, and support seasonal promotions to enhance sales.
Store Operations & Team Support:
- Assist in daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring store security and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
- Collaborate with team members and store management to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, ideally in a campus or bookstore setting.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Office applications and point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and peak seasons.
