This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in molecular biology, genomics, and assay development, along with a proven ability to guide multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Your colleagues are a group of passionate scientists, bioinformatics engineers, operations, and translational testing microbiologists and chemists who are committed to delivering tech that achieves earlier cancer diagnostics and protects communities from harmful pathogens. 

You will be working with our teams to deploy and build upon our patented chemistry for new multiplex digital PCR assays and NGS testing services to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives around the world. 

You will report directly to the CEO and will play a key role in shaping and driving the company's strategy and growth.

Requirements:

• You have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• You are an expert in assay design, optimization, and validation for PCR and/or NGS. 
• You have strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading top-notch, diverse teams of scientists - whether in an academic setting or in commercial biotech.
• You love doing primary research when needed to understand the science from first principles and how it applies to the problem at hand.
• Your critical thinking skills are excellent and you are a passionate science 'nerd' -- don't worry we are too! ;-) That said, you are also driven to use science in a practical way to bring game-changing solutions to market that positively impact communities and improve people’s health.
• You love communicating science and solutions to customers and collaborators as well as building up and 'cheerleading' your team to do the same.

Additional experience that would be nice to see:

• Experience with diagnostic or therapeutic assays (e.g., CLIA, FDA, or CE-IVD)..
• Proficiency in bioinformatics and data analysis tools relevant to NGS.

Employment Type

Full-time, Salary: $135k - $195k bonus and stock options. Compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
