$17.00-$19.00
The primary responsibility of the Delivery Driver is to deliver products to customers on time and in good condition. The Driver must develop good relations with customers as they will visit the customer many more times than the Account Representative. The Driver is an extremely important part of the Sales and Service functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver the correct number of pieces and the correct products as listed on the packing list
- Deliver to the correct address and to the correct department as shown on the packing list
- Act professionally and develop good relationships with customers
- Drive safely and maintain the vehicles as directed by the Warehouse Manager/Plant Manager
- Make sure that all paperwork is legibly signed by customers, dated and turned in daily
- Some Drivers may be asked to learn warehouse duties such as Picking, packing, or shipping
- Some Drivers may be asked to scan orders for “program accounts”
- Drivers must currently have and continue to maintain a valid drivers license applicable to the type of vehicle they will be driving
- Drivers must complete Fork Lift training and operate them safely
- Drivers must learn and adhere to Quality Policies (QP’s), Policies and Procedures (PPD’s) and company policies as found in the GT Employee Handbook
- Drivers must complete GT Haz-Mat Training although delivery of Haz-Mat will be rare
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- Experience in delivering materials especially in the local delivery area
- Experience in operating and maintaining delivery vehicles
- Experience in dealing with customers and the general public
- Background in warehouse or delivery operations
- Ability to operate Fork Lifts
- Experience in a fast paced, customer oriented operation
- Customer Service Skills
Physical Demands
- Drivers are required to use hands and arms for lifting, grabbing, pulling, pushing
- Drivers will be climbing in and out of vehicles, bending, squatting, walking, and sitting for 8 hours a day
- Drivers will be required to lift up to 60 lbs
