Overview
Operates forklift and material handles as needed throughout the Plant.
Responsibilities
- Drive forklift throughout plant in a safe manner and follow fork truck safety rules.
- Operates forklift in ALL areas of Plant plus the ability to unload trucks when needed.
- Applies proper FIFO practices of FIFO when pulling material.
- Ensures ALL RST cards are placed in the shipping box when pulling new material.
- Begin of shift checks - all production stores have the required parts and materials for production run time.
- Near the end of shift - stores must be filled to min or max condition.
- Review routing tags ensuring tags are signed off prior to the next operation.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets in a safe manner.
- Conveys materials when needed by cart, hand truck, pallet jack as needed.
- Removal of empty gondolas, totes and pallets from areas where the area is filled with refreshed products.
- Removal of empty barrels from the production floor (ensure barrels are wiped off and barrel is sealed prior to removal).
- Ensure barrels, totes and wastewater are placed in the correct locations ensuring proper environmental practices are followed.
- Continuous monitoring of floor for empty pallets etc.
- Adhere to 5-S practices.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass OSHA forklift certification.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds continuously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task in a safe manner.
- Must have a high degree of attention to prevent injury to others; promote a safe working environment.
- Must have the ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights.
- Must be able to work 1st shift (6:30am-2:30pm).
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
- The volume of material can vary shift by shift, with 1st shift carrying the majority of the volume.
