Overview
Verifies that product is acceptable to customer and internal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspects manufactured and/or purchased parts, tools and gages and completed components using gages.
- Knows well and uses established company quality control procedures.
- Must be able to troubleshoot machines and gages.
- Ability to both read and understands both English and metric systems for measurement.
- Performs gage capability studies on equipment used during Receiving Inspection (RI).
- Operates measurement equipment for critical dimensions and performs layouts.
- Uses computers to collect and analyze data. (working knowledge of MS Office Suite – Word / Excel)
- Advises area supervision of any deviation from established criteria
- Validates processes to determine if they are making good product. And stop and contain material if non-conforming.
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing audits.
- Troubleshoots machines and gages.
- Completes part measurement analysis.
- Completes machine qualifications, process capability studies and R&R studies
- Assists with maintaining incoming documentation from suppliers (certs, heat-treat charts, etc.)
- Observes all safety and health regulations. Promotes safety throughout the organization.
- Must communicate with peers, superiors, and supervisors in a clear and professional manner. Communication may take the form of written, e-mail & other electronic files, or verbal techniques.
- Follows housekeeping procedures in maintaining a neat and orderly work area adhering to 5S principles.
Qualifications
- Required computer skills needed to perform analysis work using MS excel and MS word
- Measurement experience preferred
- Must be able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions in English.
- Must be able to perform close visual work.
- Must have solid math familiarity, including a good understanding of fractions, decimals and the Metric System.
- Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds.
- Hourly Flexibility – Available to achieve tasks with extra hours when required
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Must be reliable and on time.
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work 2nd shift (2:30pm - 10:30pm)
Experience:
- Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
