Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.The instructor will provide instruction in therapeutic massage. He/she will be responsible for the delivery of information provided in lesson plans including lecture and demonstration through hands-on techniques. He/she will exhibit professional and ethical behavior at all times. He/she will present qualifications as required by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy, either holding a license in same or a degree in the field they are teaching. Much of the teaching will be demonstrations in hands on techniques. Work schedule varies (days, evenings and weekends) according to teaching assignment.The Therapeutic Massage Program is regulated by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy and complies with all of the rules and regulations set for in NC ADMINISTRATIVE CODE (TITLE 21, CHAPTER 30: SECTION .0612) – INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF QUALIFICATIONS.
