What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at GTG-Jax LLC?
Casmatic operators are responsible for the operation of Casmatic wrappers on lines #1 and #2. Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following:
- Operator is responsible for setting up the Casmatic as required for product grade changes. This involves making manual and computer controlled adjustments to the wrapper, knowing the product specifications, and having the ability to use hand tools to make the required changes.
Operator is responsible for inspecting and loading poly into the machine. This requires knowledge of poly quality standards; an understanding of what defects will affect the machine operation. The job requires physical effort to load poly onto the wrapper.
Operator is responsible for cleaning inside and outside the wrapper. This involves knowing the safety procedure for entering the machine and stopping conveyors.
Operator is responsible for having an in depth knowledge of the casmatic operation in order to diagnose and correct operational issues. This includes understanding and being able to use the computer screens to resolve issues, mechanical knowledge of how the machine operates so they can determine when something is not operating as expected and knowledge of centerlines and operating perimeters.
Operator is responsible for performing and documenting quality inspections to verify product and packaging meet quality standards. They are responsible for correcting out of specification wrapping issues
Operator is responsible for notifying the Perini operator of any problems with the rolls feeding into the wrapper that adversely affect product quality or production.
Operator is responsible for maintaining and documenting accurate downtime records. Operator is also responsible for keeping accurate counts of materials used.
Operator is responsible for assuring the conveyor package upender is set up and working properly
Operator is responsible for feeding rework product back on the line. Operator is expected to have a basic knowledge of equipment that feeds the wrapper and the case packer operation in order to assist with keeping production lines moving.
Infinity operators are responsible for the operation of Infinity case packers on lines #1 and #2. Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following.
Operator is responsible for setting up the infinity as required for product grade changes. This involves making manual and computer controlled adjustments to the infinity, knowing the product specifications, having the ability to use hand tools.
Operator is responsible for inspecting and loading KD into the machine. This requires knowledge of KD quality standards; an understanding of what defects will affect the machine operation and physical effort to transfer KD from the bundle onto the loading conveyor.
Operator is responsible for clearing product jams on conveyors and inside the infinity, This involves knowing the safety procedure for entering the machine and stopping conveyors. Operator needs to be able to troubleshoot the cause of the jam and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Operator is responsible for having an in depth knowledge of the infinity operation in order to diagnose and correct operational issues. This includes the understanding and being able to use the computer screens to resolve issues, mechanical knowledge of how the machine operates so they can determine when something is not operating as expected and knowledge of production and operating centerlines. Operator is responsible for performing and documenting quality inspections in order to verify product and packaging meet quality standards.
Operator is responsible for maintaining and documenting accurate production counts. Operator is also responsible for keeping accurate counts of materials used.
Operator is responsible for assisting with hand stacking as necessary to keep production moving. Operator is responsible for feeding rework product back on the line.
Summary: To safely operate the Perini rewinder in a way that maximizes production of a quality product in order to meet the requirements of the GTG production schedule. This is accomplished by having a good working knowledge of the rewinder, the ability to troubleshoot problems, keeping the machine and surrounding area clean and making informed decisions to uphold product quality and production standards.
Responsibilities: Operator is responsible for operating the rewinder, accumulator and log saw at centerline speeds; performing and recording all scheduled quality checks. Additional checks are to be performed as necessary.
Operator is responsible for accurately recording all downtime and notifying the Team leader of equipment or other problems affecting production and quality, using a combination of computer and manual controls the operator is responsible for assuring the lamination of two ply products is setup for maximum production and quality.
Operator needs to be able to adjust the rolls to apply the correct amount of glue to the paper, test the viscosity of the glue and adjust as needed, maintain a clean laminate section to insure proper glue flow through the system and prevent glue spills.
Operator is responsible for maintaining a sufficient flow of cores into the rewinder. This is accomplished by setting up and adjusting the core guides, core stop guides, core arm stop, core positioning cylinders, core gluing section, replacing core glue tote and assisting with the operation of the core machine.
Operator is responsible for using computer and manual controls to adjust web tensions from the roll stands to the winding section in order to maintain centerline speeds and minimize downtime due to web breaks and wrap ups.
Operator is responsible for adjusting the perforation to maintain operation at centerline speeds, minimize downtime and maintain roll quality, this is accomplished by being able to grade change to different perforation lengths, identify when it is necessary to replace perforation blades, or anvils, adjust the sinco brakes, adjust the perforation depth, adjust paper tensions and troubleshoot the perforation problems.
The operator is responsible for identifying when a worn consumable component of the rewinder needs to be replaced and is able to replace that component. (Examples include but are not limited to perforation blades, anvils, sinco brake pads, core fingers, log saw blades and various belts).
The operator is responsible for setting up the rewinder embosser to minimize paper wrap us and web breaks by using a combination of computer control and manual adjustments to set up the embosser for maximum production and quality
The operator is responsible for the safe operation of the accumulator. Operating the accumulator system includes the log loading, accumulation and log dumping into the saw. Manual and computer controls are used in the operation. Physical exertion is used when making repairs and adjustments. This includes but is not limited to making sure the area is clean, in good repair and to repair (within their capability) any damage. In addition operator is responsible for realigning trays when necessary.
Operator is responsible for making grade changes between nonprinted to printed products. The grade change involves installing print cylinders, monitoring and adjusting ink levels in storage tanks and assuring print quality on finished product meets quality standards.
