Quality Assurance Technician Level I and II

Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician Level I and II position has been developed to assure GTG–JAX receives materials that are within GTG-JAX specifications and that our customers receive a product that meets or exceeds their expectations. The quality control technician is also responsible for tracking and recording material usage, second quality rework and insuring production, quality and waste records are kept up to date and accessible.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control technicians are responsible for performing the duties and tasks as outlined in the Quality Control S.O.P. book.
  • Quality control technicians are responsible for using various types of paper testing instruments to verify incoming paper shipments are within GTG-JAX specifications and to verify information on roll tickets is correct.
  • Sampling incoming poly to verify it matches GTG-JAX specifications.
  • Sampling incoming KDF (Corrugated Cases) to verify it matches GTG-JAX specifications
  • Quality Control technicians are responsible for collecting, filing and entering quality and waste tracking information into the computer.
  • Quality control technicians are responsible for maintaining files related to production runs for ease of retrieval in the event of a product recall.
  • Quality assurance employees are responsible for performing scheduled quality inspections.
  • Quality Assurance employees are responsible for verifying correct materials are in use on production runs.
  • Quality assurance employees are responsible for informing machine operators and team leaders when there is a quality or material usage issue with production.
  • In the event of a quality problem quality assurance is responsible for tracing the issue back to the beginning and when necessary isolate the product.
  • Maintain, follow up and update the Quality Incident Report (Q.I.R.) matrix<
  • Quality Assurance technicians is responsible for knowing the product quality standards and using that knowledge when making product inspections.
  • Supervisory responsibility and follow up for the Level I Technicians to maintain the Quality Systems.

Housekeeping & GMP:

  • Quality assurance employees are responsible for keeping the lab clean and free of clutter.
  • Quality Assurance employees are responsible for keeping the rework area neat and orderly.
  • Quality Assurance employees are responsible for maintaining the bug traps located throughout the facilities.
  • Quality Assurance will work with the Operating Personnel and Operations Team Leaders to identify any present or potential Housekeeping or GMP issues, which need to be addressed and or corrected.

Safety:

  • Quality Assurance employees work area encompasses the entire production and warehousing operation. Caution must be taken when working around production equipment and working in the warehouse areas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 Year working experience.
  • Basic knowledge of computer use, good math skills, basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 year working experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a multi-functional team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Must maintain excellent safety and attendance performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
