GTI specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication, and deployment of custom modular structures, shipping container-based structures, and ballistic metal fabrication. We serve multiple industries, including DOD contractors, military, disaster relief, and commercial markets. Our containerized and modular solutions are all built in-house at our factory in Buffalo, NY. Manufacturing capabilities range from military training, live fire enclosures, bathroom/shower units, expeditionary camps, medical facilities, water treatment, electrical/energy storage enclosures, and much more.

Role Overview
This role will be actively involved in the planning, implementation, and execution of the sourcing strategy for the Company. The Sourcing Specialist will be directly responsible for establishing the appropriate sourcing strategy with the partners to drive long term goal of Supply Chain (SC), continuity of supply, and cost and design optimization.
Responsibilities
- Initiate required contract work to protect our position from business and technology Point of View (POV).
- Create and deliver supplier relationship management strategy with each supplier in the commodity space.
- Drive Request for Quotations (RFQ)s and selection process through a cross-functional analysis around supplier capabilities.
- Support of programs through the development phases to ensure continued optimization, parts availability, and contract readiness.
- Provide thought leadership and drive strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support supply chain objectives and strategies.
- Lead a supplier selection process to verify appropriate supplier is chosen with suitable capabilities for the given product while ensuring all potential suppliers meet the business, technical, and financial requirements of the program.
- Manage contracting activities with Legal and Contracts Management team and ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms, intellectual property (IP) protection, etc.
- Cost and operations management
- Build multi-sourcing strategy to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive suppliers for cost competitiveness with cost modelling and other sourcing tools.
- Run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews with team on cost and operations Key Performance Incentives (KPI)s.
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues e.g., tariffs / import export cost, cost inflation. o Continuous improvement of all critical areas around supply, manufacturing, and cost.
- Manage NPI (New Product Introduction) development builds until mature enough to transition to sustaining sourcing team.
- Manage supplier performance and compliance
- Develop and enable the introduction of new suppliers.
- Ensure suppliers deliver timely corrective actions from business review / audits.
- Support and meet business cost metrics throughout the development process.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in a high level Supply Chain/Purchasing Role
- Experience required in supply chain/purchasing in a high growth manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
- Strong communication skills with the ability to source and speak with new suppliers
- Familiarity with the audit process for onboarding new suppliers and/or vendors
