Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of desktops, laptops, and related equipment in an enterprise environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with various technologies, assist with executive-level support, and contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- IMACs: Perform installs, moves, adds, and changes for hardware and software as required.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain an accurate inventory of computers, network equipment, and peripherals.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for laptops, desktops, and phones, providing timely support and solutions.
- Executive Support: Deliver high-quality technical assistance to executives and VIP users.
- Relocation Assistance: Collaborate with Facilities Services to support office relocations and equipment setup.
- User Onboarding: Provide orientation to new users on existing technology and systems.
- Training: Offer end-user training on hardware and software to enhance productivity and system usage.
Education Requirements
- A Training and/or Certification (required).
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Certification (required).
Experience and Skills Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues.
- Proficiency with O365, Windows 10, SCCM, and Trend Micro.
- Strong customer-facing skills with excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (e.g., DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN).
- Hands-on experience testing hardware and peripherals, including replacing parts and components as needed.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and work independently with minimal supervision.
