ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is seeking an Audio / Visual System Integration & Design Engineer . This role involves designing, installing, troubleshooting, and supporting AV systems to meet organizational needs.
Systems Design & Documentation
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and develop detailed scopes of work.
Create comprehensive equipment budget spreadsheets and technical equipment lists for RFQs.
Design detailed system schematics, including mounting plans, signal flow diagrams, and network / power requirements.
Develop and manage installation schedules, coordinating with various departments, trades, and external vendors.
Provide client training and system documentation post-installation.
Installation and Integration
Oversee equipment installation, including cable termination, labeling, and documentation.
Ensure installations conform to design specifications.
Perform control system programming and integration tasks.
Troubleshooting and Customer Support
Provide technical support for current and previously installed AV systems.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for end users.
Assist with the physical installation of AV equipment in cabinets, furniture, racks, ceilings, and walls.
Aid in the dressing and routing of cables through various pathways.
Extensive travel is required.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Technology field.
4–7 years of relevant experience in AV system design and integration.
Certifications such as Crestron Master Technology Architect (MTA), CTS-I, or CTS-D preferred.
Strong knowledge of AV system design and installation, including sound reinforcement, video distribution, and control systems.
Familiarity with equipment manufacturers like Crestron, Extron, Samsung, Sony, and Microsoft Teams Rooms.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, and MS Office Suite.
Experience with DSP platforms for training rooms and other corporate AV environments.
Strong understanding of AV design drawings, including audio, video, and control flow diagrams.
Knowledge of corporate AV systems integration, including networking and telecom
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
Willingness to work outdoors and in conditions involving moving mechanical parts and electrical risks.
