GTN Technical Staffing is seeking an Enterprise Applications Engineer with a strong emphasis on SQL development, administration, and optimization to join our IT team. This role will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s enterprise applications, with a primary focus on SQL Server administration, query optimization, SSIS/SSRS reporting, and database performance tuning. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration and performance of critical business applications.
Key ResponsibilitiesSQL Development & Administration:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Design and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS ETL processes to support business intelligence and data integration needs.
- Monitor SQL Server performance, conduct index tuning, and troubleshoot query inefficiencies.
Enterprise Applications Support & Integration:
- Manage, support, and enhance business-critical applications, including Elite 3E, Intapp (Time, Risk, Intake), Concur, Iridium, and other finance, legal, and marketing tools.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory (AD), Azure AD authentication, and integrations across enterprise systems.
- Perform application upgrades, patches, and periodic maintenance while minimizing downtime.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to implement best practices for system integration and stability.
- Troubleshoot application-related SQL issues, ensuring data integrity and smooth workflow execution.
System Optimization & Maintenance:
- Execute routine SQL Server maintenance, including backups, index rebuilds, and security updates.
- Conduct performance tuning, database optimization, and query enhancements.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, database migration, and failover strategies.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to database structures, stored procedures, and system integrations.
- Develop internal how-to guides and document resolutions for recurring database and application issues.
- Research and recommend emerging database technologies and tools to improve system performance and efficiency.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, query development, and performance tuning.
- Expertise in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and indexing strategies.
- Experience working with enterprise applications in a legal, financial, or professional services environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Elite 3E database schema, Intapp, or similar financial and time-tracking applications is a plus.
- Knowledge of XML/XSLT transformations and experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, C#, or VB.NET is desirable.
- Experience administering Windows Server environments and integrating databases with Active Directory/Azure AD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system and database issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
