Job Title: SQL DBA/Data Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SQL DBA/Data Engineer who can work with relational databases like second nature. This role involves handling complex data operations, onboarding and normalizing diverse data sources, and generating ad hoc queries and reports. You will work closely with internal teams to integrate new datasets into our data ecosystem, deriving valuable insights and maintaining high performance across our AWS-hosted databases.
Key Responsibilities
Write complex SQL queries and optimize database performance.
Utilize aggregate functions to summarize and analyze large datasets.
Handle dynamic query requests and ad hoc reporting needs.
Onboard and normalize diverse data sources (e.g., CRM customer data, geospatial data, web logs).
Map external data to internal relational data structures.
Work with stakeholders to determine data relationships and business value.
Monitor and maintain AWS-hosted databases, ensuring performance and scalability.
Collaborate with application developers (Java experience is a plus).
Required Skills & Experience
Expert-level SQL skills with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
Deep understanding of aggregate functions and data summarization techniques.
Experience with data normalization and relational data modelling.
Proven track record of onboarding and integrating new data sources.
Strong problem-solving skills for handling dynamic query requirements.
Familiarity with AWS database tools and performance tuning best practices.
Knowledge of geospatial data, CRM datasets, or web traffic logs is a plus.
Programming experience in Java or similar languages is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS RDS, Redshift, etc.).
Understanding of ETL pipelines and data processing workflows.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal teams.
