Summary:
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in data entry? We're seeking a dedicated Specimen Processing Technician I to join our team. This role involves performing essential tasks within the Specimen Processing Department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specimen Processing: Perform various tasks such as A-station duties, presorting, specimen pickup, and delivery, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter data at a high speed (6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour).
- Compliance Adherence: Understand and comply with changing compliance regulations related to test ordering.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by meeting deadlines and addressing customer needs.
- Flexibility: Adapt to a dynamic work environment with frequent changes and demands.
- Safety Practices: Adhere to safety protocols and work in a biohazard environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, with a preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen processing.
- Previous laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
- Medical background with knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Experience in a production environment is advantageous.
