Summer School Site Director (Principal)
The Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools serves 1600 students from PreK-12 and is a free, open-enrollment public charter school. Over 92% of our students are Latinx. Our school system consists of Guadalupe Centers High School, Guadalupe Centers Middle School, and Guadalupe Centers Elementary School. Our system grew out of Guadalupe Centers’ educational programming. Guadalupe Centers is the longest continuously operating agency serving the Latinx community in the US since 1919. Our roots in our community run deep.

Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as the Summer School Site Director (Principal) for our upcoming summer educational program. The Site Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the summer school operation, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for students and staff alike. This is a temporary position for the duration of the summer program.
Reports to: Summer School Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Administration:
- Provide visionary leadership to the summer school team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling, facilities management, and budget oversight.
- Coordinate with central administration and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train qualified instructional and support staff.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to ensure staff members are equipped to succeed.
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with curriculum coordinators and teachers to develop a comprehensive and engaging summer curriculum.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with academic standards and student needs.
- Monitor instructional delivery and provide feedback to support effective teaching practices.
Student Support and Discipline:
- Create a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement and success.
- Implement and enforce disciplinary policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
- Coordinate support services for students with diverse learning needs.
Community Engagement:
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and program updates.
- Organize and participate in community events and outreach activities to promote the summer school program.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in educational leadership (building level)
- Valid administrator certification/license.
- Previous experience in school leadership or administration (preferred), preferably in a summer school or extended learning setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum development, and educational assessment.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Schedule and Compensation:
- This is a full-time, temporary position for the duration of the summer program.
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
