Scope of Responsibility
As a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician you will perform and report results for routine and specialized clinical laboratory analyses, in accordance with established protocols, on specimens of all types. Other duties include overseeing departmental testing, quality control and other daily functions. Including being responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate reagent inventory. Leads will act in a teaching and/or supervisory capacity for new employees and students in accordance with the appropriate baseline skills checklist and assists the Laboratory Director as needed.
Responsible to Director of Laboratory Services
Education
- Bachelor of Science Degree or an Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related field and MT certification by ASCP or equivalent certifying agency.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Technology and/or experience level for certification as required by NACCLS.
Training and Experience
- 3 – 5 years MT experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Ability to perform in all areas of Medical Technology
- Numerical, clerical and computer skills required
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Critical thinking skills necessary
