What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pers Trainer Fitness Tech PRN position at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center?
1 day a week rotating 5a-11a, some Saturdays 8a-3p and Sundays 1p-5p
Scope of Responsibility
Personal trainers should have a passion for fitness, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of exercise techniques and safety procedures. As well as able to teach proper form for exercises and observes and corrects those who are doing the exercises improperly.
Responsible to the Community Wellness Director
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field preferred
Training and Experience- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider and AED Certification within 30 days of hire
- Computer proficiency including date entry required
- Certified Personal Trainer from one of the following preferred: ACSM, NASM, NSCA or Cooper Clinic
- Group Fitness Instructor certification of the following preferred: AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, CSCS or equivalent.
- Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management, applicants, visitors and outside sources
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current insurance coverage (applicable only at request of manager)
- 1 -2 years Group Fitness/Personal Training experience preferred
