What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning and Development Specialist I position at Guaranty Bank and Trust NA?
Key Responsibilities
Manage and administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning systems including but not limited to:
- Test and perform adoption studies for newly released functionality for all learning systems.
- Manage all aspects of learning object integration including uploading course files, creating checklists, course registrations, rosters, and learner assignments.
- Serve a primary contact for user inquiries, troubleshooting for end users and provide technical information concerning related systems and applications.
- Run and distribute reports and custom reporting, as needed.
- Serve as LMS liaison to other departments.
- Assist with uploading courses, managing enrollments, and tracking training completion.
- Coordinate training sessions, schedule events, manage attendance, and prepare materials.
- Stay informed on instructional design best practices, industry standards and trends.
- Use knowledge of instructional system design (ISD), technologies and adult learning theory to propose learning solutions that are cost-effective, easy-to-create and maintain, visually and instructionally compelling and that provide a rewarding experience for the learner.
- Assist team with a rapid-development approach and strong instructional design to design, develop and maintain classroom, virtual classroom, online and self-paced training content and appropriate performance support tools including job aids, online reference tools, etc. to ensure maximum learning effectiveness.
- Manage projects within established scope, timeline, quality standards and resourcing.
- Help with various L&D projects as they arise.
- Assist in promoting training programs through internal communications and engagement initiatives.
- Design and implement reportable training measurement and evaluation systems for all programs and analyze learning effectiveness.
- Manage the Instructional Design technology, tools and resources.
- Complying with privacy policies and procedures to maintain customer confidentiality and information protection.
- Complying with all federal, state and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.
- Completing and passing all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.
- Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management.

- Ability to design and develop engaging and interactive training using a variety of modalities and methods.
- Advanced M365 application skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong technical writing skills, including proofreading/editing and quality assurance.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a consultant, including skills to probe for understanding, identify issues/opportunities and suggest win-win resolutions.
- Strong content management skills; detail and process oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Licenses:
- 2 to 3 years in a training role with a focus on developing blended learning programs for adult learners.
- Experience using authoring tools such as Vyond, Articulate, and Canva
- Experience using or administering a Learning Management System (LMS); Saba Cloud experience preferred.
- Must be willing to travel and present for company programs
- Must be willing and able to travel for various programs to different bank locations. Usually 2- 4 times a year
- Tech savvy to learn different systems and communication methods
