What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counseling Supervisor- Urgently Hiring position at Guardian Angel Community Services?
Plan, develop and implement counseling services for survivors of sexual
abuse/assault.
1. Provide individual and group counseling services for survivors of sexual assault following
counseling standards for rape crisis centers
2. Maintain a weekly schedule for individual counseling
3. Develop and facilitate group counseling for survivors of sexual assault as needed by
program.
4. Assist with hotline and crisis intervention counseling
5. Accept and execute on-call services, as needed by the program.
6. Complete documentation and reports required by GACS and for contractual obligations in an
appropriate and timely manner
7. Communicate problems and issues of concern to the supervisor.
8. Consult with GACS clinical director for support and attend required meetings required of all
counselors
9. Collaborate with the lead counselor and program supervisor to assure an effective counseling
service delivery system
10. Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information
11. Assist GACS administration in any investigation against conduct that is illegal
12. Other duties as assigned
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Attend staff meetings, team meetings and individual supervision
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in professional counseling, social work, or a related field or a Bachelor’s
Degree with Master’s Degree in progress and/or related work experience
2. Good verbal and written communication skills
3. Forty (40) hours ICASA approved sexual assault training (can be completed upon hire)
4. Sensitivity to the cultural and socio economic characteristics of persons served
5. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
6. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials
7. Ability to work flexible hours
