Schedule:
- Part time, working 20 hours per week.
- Some evenings and weekends may be required.
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for the residents of Guardian Angels to activities, events and outings to maintain their independent lifestyle for recreational purposes. The Bus Driver is responsible for overseeing and maintaining a secure environment for passengers, including escorting riders from the curb of the pick-up or drop-off point to and from the vehicle and providing physical assistance to passengers, when requested. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels and in compliance with existing rules and regulations.
Job Duties:
- Oversees bus driver(s) and is responsible for the coordinating and scheduling of routes and communication with Administrators
- Drives/operates vehicle on designated route or pick up schedule
- Exercising patience and sensitivity toward all passengers and practices professionalism in action and in speech to residents, staff at offices and the general public
- Oversees pre-trip and post-trip Inspections of the bus which includes; fueling vehicle, visual inspection of tires, windshield, report any malfunctions or need for service
- Responsible for department documentation and log work/rest periods as well as time spent driving and retains fuel slips
- Conducts routine DOT inspections and care of transit vehicle including washing, safety inspections, etc.
- Keeps supervisor fully informed regarding the working conditions of the vehicle(s).
- Follows routes and time schedule
- Follows DOT regulations and safety standards
- Assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
- Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities
- All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations
- Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels policy and procedure and as related to HIPAA
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Guardian Angels
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be a license driver in the State of Minnesota
- Possess a clean driving record
- Required or willing to obtain DOT heath card.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must have excellent verbal and written (read and write) communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, with ability to organize and prioritize.
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
