Join our team of professionals! Metric Engineering is searching for an ITS Inspector for the Central Florida area. This position requires a high school diploma plus at least 2 years in Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI), one of which was as an Inspector on Signalization and/or ITS projects. This position is responsible for field inspection duties on ITS, Signal, Lighting and Tolling related projects. The position shall maintain as-built drawings of daily work activities, as well as documentation of contractor work activities, personnel, vehicles, and item quantities installed. Candidate must have experience in the oversight of conduit and fiber optic cable installation. A firm understanding of FDOT specifications, policies and procedures is also desired.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Monitor the contractor’s daily work activities and ensure construction is being completed in accordance with the applicable Contract Documents.
- Record the contractor’s daily work activities and other information relevant to the project in a daily work report (DWR).
- Measure and report work quantities for construction progress payments.
- Maintain a set of redlined plans showing work completed to-date and any field adjustments that should be memorialized in the final as-built plans. Submit redline plans to the Project Administrator on a weekly basis for incorporation in the as-built plan set.
- Assist in field investigations, on an as-needed basis, to obtain additional details/information related to construction issues.
- Notify the Project Administrator and contractor of defective work, work activities that deviate from the plans or when materials are installed that do not meet Contract requirements.
- Monitor configuration and testing of ITS devices/equipment and ensure testing is being conducted in accordance with the approved test plan.
- Works independently and relies on extensive experience/judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
