We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong focus on designing robotic weld fixtures and automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and development, ensuring that our solutions are innovative, efficient, and ready for seamless integration. This role emphasizes advanced design engineering, from concept to final production, to support our growing range of automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Design & Development:

• Conceptualize, design, and develop advanced mechanical systems for robotic weld fixtures and custom automation equipment.

• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).

• Perform design simulations, stress analysis, and feasibility studies to validate concepts, ensuring durability, precision, and ease of manufacturability.

• Develop prototypes and conduct testing to refine designs, ensuring functionality and reliability before moving to production.

Design Optimization & Innovation:

• Innovate new solutions for complex manufacturing challenges, focusing on reducing production time, costs, and improving product performance.

• Continuously enhance existing designs to improve efficiency, ergonomics, and quality, incorporating feedback from the production team.

• Engage in research and development to introduce cutting-edge materials, components, and design techniques to our projects.

Technical Documentation & Standards:

• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and user manuals for each design.

• Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.

• Maintain organized design files, revision histories, and technical records for easy reference and compliance.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with project managers, machinists, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and ready for production.

• Communicate design ideas clearly through presentations, sketches, and technical drawings to facilitate collaboration and feedback.

• Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements, providing design solutions that exceed their expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

• Proven experience in mechanical design, with a focus on custom fixtures, tooling, and automation equipment.

• Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD) and familiarity with simulation tools for stress analysis and performance testing.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, metal fabrication, and welding.

• Keen attention to detail, with a passion for creating high-quality, precision-engineered products.

• Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills, with the ability to translate concepts into practical designs.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with rapid prototyping and hands-on testing of mechanical designs.

• Familiarity with material selection, especially for components used in industrial automation.

• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards and practices.

• Background in working with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers and software developers.
