Key Responsibilities :
Complete and submit electronic patient care records promptly for each dispatched flight, ensuring daily base checks, including narcotic counts are maintained.
Provide advanced life support care pre-hospital and intra-hospital, maintaining thorough documentation until transfer to the medical facility.
Stay current on knowledge and skills through ongoing clinical practice and education.
Keep up-to-date documentation for your required licenses, certifications, continuing education, and safety protocols.
Ensure familiarity with and proper maintenance of all necessary equipment and supplies used in emergency services.
Foster positive relationships with colleagues, emergency service representatives, and public members.
Participate as a medical flight team member, contributing to pre-mission briefings and debriefing sessions.
Assist with pre-flight checks and pilot support where necessary.
Comply with all safety standards to promote safety for yourself, colleagues, patients, and equipment prior to flight.
Conduct safety briefings for team members as required.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications :
Experience : At least three (3) years in an Advanced Life Support (ALS) or critical care environment is required; flight experience is a plus.
Education : Valid EMT-P license / certification in the applicable states is mandatory. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are needed before achieving flight status, along with trauma certification within 6 months post-hire. Advanced Certification (FP-C) is preferred, pending within 12 months of starting. Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS / PEPP, ITLS / PHTLS are desirable.
Physical Demands :
Candidates should ideally reside in Hawaii to accommodate scheduling needs.
Willingness to shave facial hair, if necessary, to ensure proper fit for an N95 mask.
Ability to perform a full range of safe and effective patient care activities, requiring gross and fine motor skills.
Lift and / or move up to 150 pounds with assistance.
Must possess specific vision abilities, including close and distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment capabilities.
Flexibility in work schedule is necessary.
