The Finance, Portfolio and Performance (FPP) team is critical to supporting a thriving Parliamentary democracy.
The House of Commons is implementing an Independent Review into Financial Management (IRFM), examining key elements of financial management, including contract and programme management, to ensure the House has robust processes and controls in place to manage its finances.
The Financial Improvement and Performance Team within FPP is overseeing the implementation of recommendations from the IRFM and ensuring that a culture of better financial management is embedded.
The Role
The Strategic Finance Analyst will be an important member of the small team supporting the delivery of the zero-based review project. They will also shape zero-based reviews by contributing to analysis of budgets, through investigating and scrutinising evidence and gathering further evidence as required.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- Supporting zero-based reviews of business areas
- including leading on gathering new evidence through designing staff activity surveys
- Analysing and interpreting evidence and data through qualitative and quantitative methods from a wide range of sources, including financial, management, and operational information
- Contributing to the smooth running of the zero-based review project by proactively using project management and organisational skills to manage zero-based review schedules
- Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues across the organisation
