Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including but not limited to debtor rights, Bankruptcy, and FDCPA/TCPA/FCRA. This role requires excellent legal drafting skills and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while providing high-quality legal support.
Key job duties include:
- Preparing correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Conducting legal research, preparing for and attending hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and providing legal counsel
- Analyzing conflicts in legal matters, advising clients on solutions, and negotiating on behalf of clients
- Maintain active communication with Guardian's legal assistants and clients, responding to requests in a timely fashion to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Maintaining client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for associate attorneys, case managers, and other support staff
To be considered for Contract Attorney, you should:
- Have successfully completed law school, passed the state bar exam, and have a completed Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school
- Be an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
- Be licensed to practice law in IL
- Have the proficiency to work with Guardian’s attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our clientele
- Possess phenomenal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills required to efficiently work with clients, other attorneys, case managers, and other support staff
- Prior experience in debtor rights, including collections actions, FDCPA/TCPA/FCRA, and bankruptcy is a huge plus!
