The Director of Human Resources is responsible for establishing, leading, and executing strategies designed to continuously improve employee experience, increase engagement, and drive overall HR effectiveness at Guardian. This role serves as a strategic business partner to all levels of leadership, overseeing HR strategy, employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and talent management initiatives. Responsible for ensuring legal compliance, resolving complex employee relations issues, and implementing best practices to promote an employee-friendly atmosphere. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address key people’s needs, strengthen employee brand, and drive organizational success.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field plus 10 years’ experience in a leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- PHR/SPHR Certificate preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles, practices and procedures.
- Exceptional leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent project management and communication abilities
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong familiarity with HRIS systems and workforce planning tools
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals, drive employee engagement and promote a positive work culture.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Resolve simple to complex employee relations issues effectively and identify broader opportunities for long-term success. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Utilize effective dispute resolution techniques.
- Monitor, develop and implement company-wide employee engagement efforts.
- Assess effectiveness of HR practices and actions and look for opportunities to improve HR programs and provide coaching that will yield optimal performance or results.
- Lead employee experience initiatives, including onboarding, performance management, and retention strategies.
- Provide guidance on employment law standards, company policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to address key people needs and develop talent management programs.
- Analyze HR practices and recommend improvements to enhance performance and contain costs. Manage HR budgets and resources effectively.
- Monitor employee engagement, conduct stay and exit interviews, and address attrition issues to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Partner with HR central functions such as, Compensation and Benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, etc. to address employee needs and foster open communication and trust across the organization.
- Develop and communicate company policies, conduct audits for legal compliance, and provide coaching on compliance and process improvement.
- Measure HR program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
- Provide leadership and guidance on HR initiatives to support overall organizational success and employee satisfaction.
